Gestern wurde die neue SABATON veröffentlicht. Die Tracklist sieht aus wie folgt:

Hab die Tage irgendwo gelesen, dass die "Heroes" enttäuschend war.
Dem kann ich ja sowas von nicht zustimmen!
Der Opener als volle Breitseite, "Soldier of 3 armies", "To hell and back" oder das absolut epische, geniale "Hearts of Iron"...
Wie seht ihr das?

Eine Enttäuschung sieht für mich auch anders aus. Aber deine Auswahl ist interessant. Da liegen wir gerade mal bei 'To Hell And Back' auf einer Wellenlänge. Bei mir stehen neben dem Erwähnten auch noch das düstere 'Inmate 4859' und 'Ballad Of Bull', da gerade das ja mal quasi wieder neu ist, dass SABATON sich an einer reinen Ballade versuchen. Klar auf "Fist For Fight/Metalizer" gab es solche Ansätze bereits, aber bei weitem nicht mit dieser Klasse!

Wobei eines doch etwas die Euphorie bremst. Hör dir nochmal 'Hearts Of Iron' und direkt danach das neue 'The Last Battalion' an. Direkt vom Vorgänger die Melodien zu klauen find ich schon etwas sehr kurzsichtig :lachen:

Jetzt ist es raus. Oder vielmehr "er". Thobbe legt die Gitarre beiseite, und SABATON haben soeben über Facebook ein Statement enthüllt und dabei auch gleich den "Neuen" vorgestellt. Hier der Originaltext:

Thank you Thobbe, Welcome Tommy!

Our guitarplayer Thobbe did his final concert with us on the last nights very emotional show at the Sabaton Open Air festival. Celebrating the release of our new album while saying goodbye to a great friend is lot of mixed feelings.

But the future is bright since this was not nearly our last stand, from now on you will see Tommy Johansson playing guitars with Sabaton and we all look forward to see you on the road!

"For me to be a part of the Sabaton family is a huge honour and I couldn't be happier! The guys are awesome and among the nicest people you can meet. I've been following Sabaton since 2005 when I saw them live for the first time and I have loved the band ever since, so when they asked me to join there were no hesitation.

Although, they did ask me already back in 2012 but for many personal reasons it was not a good time for me to hit the road and give everything that was needed to the band. So I declined, but we have stayed in touch since then. I also wanna say that Thobbe is a great guitarist and such a wonderful guy!! My job is not to replace him, it's to contribute to the band with my own style of guitarplaying but of course also to keep his fans happy by playing his wonderful solos with pride. I look foward to meet you all on tour and to do what I love the most in life - to play heavy metal!"

So, hab die Scheibe jetzt ein paar Mal gehört, und finde sie richtig gut!
Bisher noch nicht so gut wie die "Heroes", aber ich hab sie auch erst seit Donnerstag ;)
Außerdem muss der damalige Opener "Night Witches" erstmal getoppt werden! :56:
Einerseits finde ich es zwar schade, dass die Lieder meist um die 3-4 Minuten sind, andererseits kommt die Band halt direkt zum Punkt und verzichtet auf Komplexität. Gerade das ist glaube ich ein "Rezept", weswegen sie so erfolgreich sind.

Übrigens, zwischen "Hearts Of Iron" und "The Last Battalion" höre ich kein selbst-kopieren...
