Hello again! ;)
I hope the new boards are not that much different than the old ones, eh? They are really nice, should be no problem to get used to them. :)

Hey everybody
Cool to see that BFM have also decided to use phpBB forums, they're just better!!
OK!
Rock on

Okay, I found my way to this bords too!
This looks not too different from the old forums, so I guess we'll be just fine.
As long as everyone of the Falconer Board community shows up, everything's gonna be ok :)
The Falconer Bandboards at the old forums had the second most postings of all *g* We guys were really productive and dedicated hu? ;)

WOW now this is good news indeed :P :D
So the line up is complete and "GRIME VS GRANDEUR" is about to happen.
Good, very good :) So it can't be too long until we hear new stuff of our favourite band around, hu? *g*
@Stefan and his (new) gang ;)
Guys, congratulations and best of luck!
We're hungering for new tunes of Falconer :)
-
Actually I know this new guitarist IRL ... so it wasnt a joke :P
I have to tell you that Jimmy Hedlund is the best guitarist i've ever seen IRL :) hehe
-
Hehehe, let me give a rough guess:
"Interests: Music, My Guitar and Beer :)"
"Location: Hillerstorp, Sweden"
YOU are Jimmy Hedlund?! :D
-
Uh, pardon my interference at this place:
The old FALCONER boards at http://8090.rapidforum.com are now officially closed.
A pointer is set towards http://boards.bleeding4metal.de (this board) and everyone is invited to join in.
That's it and thanks for reading ;)
Btw, if you're really a member of Falconer, please let us know so we can officially "promote" you on the boards... :)
-
Hehehe, let me give a rough guess:

YOU are Jimmy Hedlund?! :D
Haha no! :)
I'm one of his friends and I told him to search as solo guitarist for Falconer... kept telling him that he would fit perfect :D And obviously he did :)
Thor, you may promote me anyway  hehe :P
-
Hm, okay, but pretty close guess anyway. :)
Hope to see all the guys over here soon. If you meet them tonight or during the next days, tell them to come over here, okay? ;)
-
Btw : with 'here' Odin means Belgium ...
hehehehehehehe... :D
-
No, Odin means Asgard, i.e. the new server. :)
-
Guess you got me wrong there Odin.
You said in the previous post :
'Tell them to come over here'...
Was just explaining that with 'here' you mean Belgium ...
-
I got you right there, just corrected your explanation error. :)

Hi there guys n' girls!
I've fixed the link to this forum from the falconer homepage at last...
Rock on and stay metal!
-
I guess the new Falconer forum wonīt be quite complete without the newbie who hasnīt been around for a while  so sorry!!
Well, your little Hor-Nick is back and can maintain that he hasnīt just been sitting around not caring for the metal world... nooo, Ive been doing research. My search for more great power metal continues. And Ive found some nice stuff.
BATTLELORE: fantastic. love it. new album: awesome
BLIND GUARDIAN: i got myself the tales from the twilight world disc i believe tex suggested to me (thanks! i sure like it. but personally i think nightfall in middle-earth is way better)
FALKENBACH: a little monotone, yet basically very sound. good tunes.
DOOMSWORD: bought the current album Let Battle Commence. Gotta listen to it couplea times to get into the thing, but then it kicks ass.
This only in case anyone is still interested in your metal trainee's progress!
Any comments on this or further suggestions?
And I understand our favorite band has found themselves a new guitar player? Thats what I call good news man! Cant wait for the new album!
I certainly support the idea of Stefan putting some sound samples on the web!
Kay, so much for the hi im back posting.
Hopefully we can fill the new forum just like the old one. Keep on forging, dudes!
Horus-N.

Welcome back then! :)

Sounds awesome.. you should checkout Moonsorrow.
-
Ah Mr.Birdhead is back! :)
Welcome back Horn-Nick!
A few suggestions:
Axenstar - "Far from Heaven"
Wuthering Heights - "Far from the Madding Crowd"
Nocturnal Rites - "New World Messiah" or "Shadowland"
Sonata Arctica - "Winterheart's Guild" or the new one "Reckoning Night"
Check it out man! :)
oh and btw: these are albums that I recommend.
-
Mr. Birdhead alright...
Well thank youuu for welcome and suggestions (again) - always good to have some more stuff to be looking out for!
I'll be on my way
-
Happy to see you made it over Hor-Nick. Nice bit of research :)
-
Thank you - Im doing the best I can!
Oh and tell your son Horus says thanks for the link to his tattoos!
-
Hey Horus, nice to see you on the other side, really awesome avatar there!!! Right up your alley!
-
Thanks, Metal RN!
Yea the avatar is from the movie Immortal ad vitam; it is based on the Nikopol comic trilogy upon which my nickname is based.
After months of waiting I have finally been able to download it in a rather small amount of time and its so very awesome... if you like dudes with falcon heads, that is :banger2:
-
THANKS for this nice movie recommendation Sir Birdhead!
I somehow skipped all the reviews about this Enki Bilal movie.
Now I've checked out the trailer, read a few reviews which are mixed and well... I'm kinda interested :)
Hopefully I get to check it out soon.
-
Yay! More delicious power metal, that's my favourite metal genre along with folk/viking :D
I'll look up all of those, and i'll post any rare PM bands that i find  :bluebanger:
-

Horus-N.
I'm telling you dude, LOST HORIZON, get their first album, Awakening The World, if you can - true Power Metal majesty.
On that subject, I saw DragonForce in Glasgow last night  Now that, my friends, is what I call :metal:
-
You saw DF live? You lucky &#%@er. :P I wish they'd tour the US.
-

Where did you download it from? I would like to as well as I know some indidviduals who would be very interested in watching it.......
I can also second the recommendation for Lost Horizon. Have you heard of Freedom Call? They are in the same vein of music, and not too bad. Axenstar is very good as well, their vocal harmonies/quality are excellent!!!!
-

Are you a big Rhapsody fan as well? I have not heard any of teh new ablum, have you? I quite enjoy this style of music! :bluebanger:
-

Please don't mention Axenstar and Freedom Call in the same paragraph. Axenstar are cool, Freedom Call aren't.
FC make some kind of Happy Metal that is only bearable live (and quite good then) but makes me throw up when I listen to it on CD.
Axenstar sound great live and from CD, but should freshen up their show a bit.
Greetz,
Tex
-
Tex- I guess I have to agree with you on both fronts there, I can only listen to FC for so long but I must admit, I do listen to them when I do not want anything deep, just listen to the melodies mostly. I find that I do not pay attention to the lyrics unless I try to, maybe that was why! I was given a copy of an album of theirs, i am not even sure which one!
Axenstar we saw at SwedenRock, breifly, because we were watching someone else at the time, I think Sonata, but we picked up the album at the show., Perpetual Twilight. How does that one compare to the one you reveiwed at Bleeding?
-

I'm not sure, simply because I only have "Far from heaven" right now. "Perpetual twilight " is still on my shopping list.

By all means : DO THAT !!!
:D
-
"Far from Heaven" is in my humble opinion better than "Perpetual Twilight". The sound and the arrangements rock more.
This month, on the 25th I'm going to the Nightwish gig here in Vienna, and Sonata Arctica will be supporting Tarja and the boys! :)
I guess that's gonna rock!
-
Thank you - Im doing the best I can!

Have seen them twice and spoke to the guys then 8)
They are really nice :D

Gee so many replies in no time
What should I say... so many bands, so much to PURCHASE!
If you wanna spare yourself the trouble of gaining the movie in whatever way we do not want to glorify here - wait for the DVD. It is already out in France but I dare not buy it there cuz as I know the French, they probably didnīt even put the english audio on it (even though the film was done in english). thats just an assumption, but I will not take the risk. Hopefully a German DVD will be released soon.

You are misinformed. French DVDs usually come with the original language and a French dubbing. With some movies, the French editions are the best you can get: Crying Freeman for example. No US DVD, all European versions are in 4:3, the German version has mandatory subtitles when the original language is chosen. Only the French DVD is in 16:9 and does not force subtitles on you.
Oh, please delete the filesharing howto, ok. We are not condoning piracy here!
Greetz,
Tex
-
I use soulseek (p2p) as a sort of "try before you buy". Don't get me wrong, i still buy music, but this way i find out HEAPS more bands than i would otherwise, and i know what to expect when buying a CD.
-
"try before you buy".
Yeah! That's actually my point too in downloading this stuff. I agree.
And concerning "Immortel" or "Immortal ad vitam" or "Immortal" (many similar titles for one and the same movie!): I looked for it via emule and was successful. Now it's a matter of time until I can judge the movie myself.
-
Well Tex if that is the truth I might just as well get it via amazon.fr
Thatīs where I found the French DVD but it did not say which languages are on it and being a little prejudiced I thought nawww you dont wanna buy this disc and end up not being able to watch the bloomin english version.
I trust you on your DVD knowledge, Tex, but I still would rather wait some more time for a German release.
Just makes me feel more comfortable

There is such thing as email. Ever considered asking the guys or gals at Amazon.fr?
:)
Greetz,

-
yea I have. As ultima ratio so to speak
-
You saw DF live? You lucky &#%@er. :P I wish they'd tour the US.
Nyahahahaha
You can take revenge in the fact that they are the first Power Metal band to tour the UK since Helloween in 1987 - I had to go all the way to Sweden in the summer to see Lost Horizon, Children of Bodom, Nightwish etc.
(If only I'd gone last year I'd have seen Falconer....curses)
And to whomever asked me - I love Rhapsody, but the new album is a bit disappointing - not enough guitar, boring drums (again), recycled meolodies.......at least there's proper bass playing this time around though.
-
I use DC++ to get new music, to check it out. If I like it I buy it.
The 20 lastest albums I have bought, I have had them all on Mp3.
-

I saw Falconer
And I was on Sweden Rock this year 2 :)
Awesome festival!
-
Fuck yeah!
Lost Horizon
Judas Priest
Nightwish
EUROPE :D
Bodom
Brainstorm
Helloween
Awesome.

@ Hor-Nick --
Immortal is supposedly being released in the US this month. I hope to get to see it.
Also, I forget, did anybody suggest the band Fairyland to you? (Like you haven't gotten enough suggestions already to keep you busy for months.) The musical style and theme might be one you'd like. Although the lineup has under gone a big change this year I really like their 2003 CD "Of Wars In Osyhria".
-
Immortal in US theaters? How unfair is that? This movie was a European co-production and now the only countries that are gonna release it are France, Switzerland and America?? Something funny must be going on. But no hard feelings here, Iīm glad you might get to see this weird yet cool movie in the cinema.
Fairlyland... (makes a little note) gonna get some, thanks!
A new friend of mine who is also into power metal got me some new music, too, when we had our metal friday with enough beer and cds... the gods are certainly on my side.
A VERY cool Cd IMHO is Prophet of the Last Eclipse by Luca Tuirilli and many guest choirs and musicians. I couldnīt believe how awesome the songs were kicking in, because I think Rhapsody is quite ... well, theyīre no Falconer or similar... knowhatimsayin?
Yeah, so - things are going fine!! :D
-
Fairyland is awesome! :D
Seen them live also.
Luca Turilli kicks ass, got the Prophet Of The Last Eclipse album original :)
Just waiting for the new album :D
-
Prophet of the Last Eclipse can't touch Luca's first solo effore IMO.
What/who do Fairyland sound like?
-
Fairyland is awesome! :D
Seen them live also.
Me too. Sweden Rock, right? I've got pictures! 8)
-
Metal, do you post on the DragonForce forums?
-
Prophet of the Last Eclipse can't touch Luca's first solo effore IMO.
What/who do Fairyland sound like?
I actually agree on that :)
NP: Luca Turilli - Kings Of The Nordic Twilight
Fairyland is very fantasy, epic .. hard to describe.. you have to check them out! Really a awesome band.
-

Yes :)
Me 2.. ;)
But the sounds was very weird at the Fairyland gig. :(
-
Metal, do you post on the DragonForce forums?
Yes I do, I use the nick Metalbast there, who are you over there ? :D
-
Wait...there are other DF forum members at this forum??? HI! Glad to see some familiar faces! :)
-
Wait...there are other DF forum members at this forum??? HI! Glad to see some familiar faces! :)
Hi hi angel :)
HEHE :D
-
Artheryon (I just mangled his username) used to frequent here too, but I haven't seen him on in awhile.
-
I haven't been on B4M / Falconer board for a while and wow, there is much I unfortunately missed. Hope everyone is doing fine.
-
We are all fine Avricha !
You will meet many nice newcomers here !
For those of you who might not know Avricha, she was a frequent visitor on the old boards !
And a huge thanks to Radagast while I am at it : I managed to lay hands on the album 'Awakening the world' by Lost horizon and I must say :
WOW !!! What a band ! Superb !!
I am convinced MANY Falconerfans will love this music !!
-
Well, I aim to please. Shame the second album isn't half as good, but ah well.
Metal, I don't post on the D-F forum (too many users), I just recognised your sig whilst surfing around.
-
I went to see Saxon last night because Dream Evil were supporting and they were amazing. We met the band in the bar afterwards and I swapped t-shirts with Fredrick (he took a liking to mine beacuse it said "WHERE IS GUS ?"), all very nice guys - Snowy is a maniac!
-
Metal, I don't post on the D-F forum (too many users), I just recognised your sig whilst surfing around.
Oh hehe :)
Well you should post there... though there are many new ppl there right now :?
-
Tell me about it. The Glasgow gig was sold out! Lots of kiddies in the crowd... :?
-
Lots of kiddies in the crowd... :?
I assume you mean people around my age, 16 years. We have just as much rights to go to concerts and enjoy excellent music as the older metal fans, i don't want this to blow up into an argument, but just remember that.
-
Lots of kiddies in the crowd... :?
I've opened a new topic for this discussion.
Feel free to carry on the argument there :)
-
Tell me about it. The Glasgow gig was sold out! Lots of kiddies in the crowd... :?
Damn :? I remember the old days when nobody knew about DF :) hehe
