Per Tyrsson's daughters in Vänge
Oh how chilly their woods
They were fast asleep a long time ago
Whilst the woods burst into leaf
The youngest was the first one to awake
She soon awoke the others
They sat themselves down upon their beds
and plaited the hair on each other's heads
Then they dressed in clothes of silk
and made their way to church
When they came to Vänga hill
they met three robbers who held them still
"Pray, would you care to become robbers' wives?
Or would you rather lose your lives?"
"We would not care to become robbers' wives.
We would much rather lose our lives."
They chopped their heads off on birch-wood stem
and soon three wells sprung forth by them
The bodies were dug down in muddy ground,
the clothes they carried to Vänga town.
As they arrived in Vänga farm
Fru Karin came to greet them.
"Say, would you care to buy clothes of silk
that nine maidens have knitted and crotcheted?"
"Open your bundles and let me see
maybe I know them, all three."
Fru Karin quivers as never before
and runs to Per Tyrsson who stands by the door
"There are three robbers outside our farm
they've gotten rid of our daughters"
Per Tyrsson grabs his sword and then
he runs to slay the two older men.
He asked the third one before he stroke
"Who is your father and mother?"
"Our father Per Tyrsson in Vänge,
our mother Fru Karin in Skränge."
Per Tyrsson went to the smithy
and forged himself iron round his waist.
"What shall our retribution be?"
"We'll build a church out of stone and lime."
"Kärna Church shall be its name"
Oh how chilly their woods
"Oh, how willingly we will build it ."
Whilst the woods burst into leaf

Yes I have to say.
"En Kungens Man" is very sad song about the young pesant girl Maria on her way to the local market to sell some bred for living when a Knight (En Kungens Man= A man of the King) decides to "take" her. He rapes her, she kills him, bla bla bla, she gets arrested and in the end she is stoned to death and the dead knight becomes a saint.
A very political song but still so beautiful.
I did the song as an extra during last tour. Sang, played and explanied it as it went on.
We didn't do it for the politic. It´s just a lovely song.

A great song about falsely acclaimed heroism and huge unjustness.
It's the misdeed of the man and the consequential tragedy of the girl combined that makes the king's man actually a hero. That's the drama. It's just so fucking wrong! *sighs*

Or as soon as I win the lottery and can afford to fly to Europe to see them. Whichever comes first. ;)

About a year ago I saw a promo flyer in a Glasgow club called Barfly showing all their upcoming gigs. They claimed Falconer were playing. When I saw no further promo I called them up to confirm and they denied ever having advertised it. Bastards. That's one way to get your hopes up and down in a short period of time.

That's annoying man!
Here in Vienna it was the problem, that they shut down the venue where Falconer where scheduled to play. Just about a few weeks before the gig. So they moved the whole gig to Slovenia. *sighs* A whole different country.

We were very close to skip that gig. But I shure do remebre the Slovenian gig.
The fans there were totally crazy. Lucky for us!
We were totally hungover and didn't want to do the gig because our bus driver got too drunk, so he peed inside the tour bus the night before. In the stairs. We had to fire him and left him at an airport in Austria. I'm not shure if he knew why he were at the airport when he got sober. Ha ha! He made a totally fucking idot out of himself and went totally banans that night. It was not so funny at the moment but when I think about it now it's quite hilarious. LOL!!!

Do you remember anything from the other two Austrian gigs? Graz? Innsbruck?
I couldn't make it there neither :(
But next time I'll try hard if it comes to that. But hopefully you'll stopy by in our beloved capital city VIENNA :D
