DON'T GET HIM STARTED!!! I think he can recite every line from that movie, or Princess Bride, any Mel Brookes or Monte Python (especially Holy Grail) movie for that matter. We were flipping channels the other day and Major League can on and he was delivering the lines before the actors could. Worse is when my son is home! They constantly recite dialogue from these comedies!

"I am Dennis The Shurbber!"
-
You tit. I soiled my armour I was so scared!

You know, this is unfair... I haven't seen them in the original, i.e. with the English dialogues, but only in German so far. Though I recognize the parts, haha... good laugh. But I cannot participate...
Another point on the todo list: Get all Monty Python stuff in English!
-
Here you go!!!!

The whole screenplay! No wonder we get along so well.
But I prefer, "As you wish"
*Bored out of my mind sitting here in a training class trying not to fall asleep*

Do YOU know how to defend yourself against fresh fruit?
-
Oh my goodness....
I'll try to get this stuff read, but I'd definitely prefer to see the movies in original sound - asap. ;)
And by the way, I have the whole screenplay (dialogues) of "Life of Brian" in German, hehe...

When you're walking home tonight and some great homicidal maniac comes after you with a bunch of loganberries, don't come crying to me!
(Isn't the BBC channel great!!!)
What about Austin Powers?
Theres two things in this world that I absolutely hate........ intolerance of other cultures and the Dutch!
-
Ah, finally a topic for me.
It's not, that I haven't seen the Monthy Python stuff - I just don't like most of it.
Dr. Evil: I haven't laughed that hard since I was a little girl.
Btw: Separate topic for the quoting thingy?
-
Sure!!! I think that might make another good "spam topic" for down times, maybe even a "do you know what movie this quote is from" topic or something.
Are those freakin' sharks, with freakin' laser beams on their freakin' heads?!?!?!?!

Most people either love it or not, I think.
also my post counter has been stuck at 696 for like a week, (I would not have really know if I was not close to 700)
-
Postings are no longer counted in "Talk" and "Testdrive".
Posts in other forums should be counted (as my counter increased a bit at least, I'm quite sure they are).
Sorry, but that was necessary as there seemed to be a competition in increasing the personal posting counter by posting to the "NP-thread" every 3 minutes or something - and other examples like that of course.
Another one from Austin Powers:
Jimi Hendrix deceased, drugs. Janis Joplin deceased, alcohol. Mama Cass deceased, ham sandwich.

Python's "Holy Grail" has been turned into a musical by Eric Idle called "SPAMALOT".
It just hit the Broadway stage in NYC.
-
I know! I wanted to see it in Chicago, but I didn't get to because I was supposed to have jaw surgery. :(

I think i've watched that one..give me a hint

"Who is more folish: the fool or the fool who follows him?"
Guess which movie...:P
"Star Wars: A New Hope". Obi-Wan says this to Han Solo, but I'm not sure at which occasion exactly. I believe it's in that control room inside the death star, isn't it?
"appology accepted captain Needa"
Hm, it's from one of the three later Star Wars movies, too. I believe he's not there anymore in Episode VI, therefore this must be from Episode V "The Empire Strikes Back". Or is it from Ep. IV, too?
-
I thought it sounded familiar .. :hammer:
-
Very good indeed! :D
The first one is when they climbs out of the hidingplace in Solo's ship.
The next one is indeed from the empire strikes back...it's my favourite...:P
Its when captain Needa losses track of The millenium falcon after they've emerged from the asteriods. :P and he goes to appologies to lord vader hwo kills him first and then accept the appology. moahahahhahahaa
