Hi there!
Just to let you know: Dimitris is still alive and well. He'll serve some months on a lovely Greek island where very good wine is made.
:)
After this, he'll be closer to home again for the rest of his army time.
Greetz,
Tex
-
I want to go to a lovely Greek Island where very good wine is made. Lucky Dimitris!

WELL BE OUR GUEST....mmm, we'll send you to Evros, see what you'll do when the Turks start passing the river..once more...
-
PS. regarding the wine.Greece is made of wine , my friend...it's called IHORA, the blood of the gods 8)
-
whats there to be afraid of about the turds????? (lmao)
I mean their just a bunch of sissys on a two inch side walk that tryt to look mean.. but I aint skeered.. lol

Maybe, but when you're left all alone in the wilderness on guard, you may start forming a different opinion.
It's not a matter of being scared you see..(I must confess i tricked you a bit though, Evros is not an island, but a river that forms the Greek -Turkish borders).
As for Dimitris, i don't know you yet man, but i wish you kalos politis, and waiting eagerly for you coming back cause i have a membership pending..

Ok our friend Gargantouas made his way up to Mr chief cook !!!
What can i say ....poor greek soldiers.
Well done for Dimitris!..my husband was chief cook when in the army and he had a great time!! no field exercises and guarding god forsaken watch-towers.
Plenty of food and a chance to learn how to cook !!
-
I hope he doesn't accidentally poison the Greek Army!
Just kidding! I'm sure he'll feed them well!

 The Greek Army has been fed through the years with almost everything!! There's nothing on this earth they cannot eat! I have a little quiz for you all: Do you know what "Gozzila" is to the Greek Army? The first one to answer gets a can for free!! (Greeks are exluded)
-
I'm not exactly sure that I *want* to know what that is.
:-)
Greetz,
Tex

:-)
 I bet you'd love to know what that is, but i'm certain you'd never want to eat it!!
-
..plus i think you have a pretty vivid imagination !!!
-
Umm...is it Lizard meat?
I really don't know. I could have cheated and E-mailed someone I know who is Greek, but that would be wrong of me! :P
-
Um.... meat of a giant mutant lizard that's usually found stomping around on Japan?
-
Umm...is it Lizard meat?
No..We don't eat lizzards...anymore    (we're not french, we don't eat neither lizzards, nor frongs  )

No...
-
Is it some kidn of cheese?
-
Is it some kidn of cheese?
No, stick to meat.
Hint: Find the kind of meat and then try to guess why we call it Godzilla (use yr imagination combined with a logical yet clever comparison).
If i say more i'll spill it out
-
Mutant lizard/lamb?
-
Mutant lizard/lamb?
Hmm..i wonder what this animal would look like..
NO.
-
Shark meat?
-
Shark meat?
You're kidding me
NO.
4 legged animal which is consumed worldwide (big hint: except from India).
-
I hope it's not beef, becaus that most definitely is consumed in India too ;)
There is a common misconception that no cows are eaten there, just because the majority of people there are Hindus.
Quick information: there is only one caste in Hinduism that doesn't eat meat (no meat at all), all the other people do eat meat (even beef).
And even if they didn't - a huge percentage of Indias are still muslim, buddhist or christian (me for example):)
And by the way... how does one get from beef to godzilla :?:
That's a strange transition which makes me curious about the explanation :D
If it's beef indeed, that is.... *g*

That was a big hint indeed.
A cow? But why would anyone call that "Gozzilla"?

Yeah!!! (Beef specifically but yeah!!)
But why would anyone call that "Gozzilla"?
Think of Gozzila...WHEN was he born?????
This is the biggest hint ever...come on people..it's right there , knocking at yr door!! :)

No :) Godzilla is pretty much older than a baby cow.. (and now i think you can easily guess  )
-
You mean, you eat geriatric cattle?
-
No.
When you get tired of this people let me know and i'll let you know what this is all about. :)
-
Well I give up.
-
They ate beef from the year 1945?! :?
-
They ate beef from the year 1945?! :?
Prab i'm so proud of you!!!!!!! :D
Ok, here is exactly how this story goes: Hundreds of soldiers saw with their own eyes hunderds of kilos of frosen beef back in the 70's & 80's marked with a 1949-1964 (the year the animal had been slaughtered) blue seal on it.And this beef they had to consume (and many really did!!!).Thus they started calling this beef "Godzilla".
Of course and thank god, these kind of things stopped happening since a long long time now, but still the word Godzilla is used to describe a kind of meat very old and of suspicious origin.
