Web page only in swedish unfortunately:

The idea is quite simple; rate your five favourite albums released in 2008.
I'm listening to my number one right now :56: Amongst Beggars And Thieves!
So let's vote for Falconer as number one this year :icon_mrgreen:
Cheers

Hmmm, not sure if I should reveal that...äh skit samma:
2. Metallica "Death Magnetic"
3. Volbeat "Guitar Gangsters and Cadillac Blood"
4. Black Stone Cherry "Folklore & Superstition"
5. Evergrey "Torn" (this one needs some explaining...haven´t heard many songs from the album, haven´t bought many albums this year, but had to write something...)
How about you tirlith?

Aaah, Volbeat!

2. Opeth - Watershed
3. Amon Amarth - Twilight Of The Thundergod
4. Bloodbath - The Fathomless Mastery
5. Metallica - Death Magnetic (don't know why I chose this album, actually)
-
2 Thyrfing - Hels Vite
3 Kampfar - Heimgang
4 Heidevolk - Walhalla Wacht
5 Amon Amarth - Twilight of the Thunder God
I think it was in that order anyway. ;D Really good albums all of them.
-
2 Thyrfing - Hels Vite
Thyrfing, really?? I have all of their albums since Urkraft, but this one, I have to admit, really sucks! I don't know if it has anything to do with their new singer, but I think all the charm of Thyrfing has totally gone away!
The new album from Ásmegin is really good, you all should give it a listen, indeed!

Will do!
I really like Hels vite. It's not as good as Vansinnesvisor, but still great. I like the new singer, so maybe that's the problem for you as you said.
I don't understand how you can think it sucks though, take "Tre Vintrar, Två solar" for example, really great song, I'm always going around and singing it in my head.

It's better than I ever thought it would be.
Yet 'Vansinnesvisor' is their best album ever, methinks.

Agree, 90%, but was Jag Spår Fördärv also on it, it would be 100%

Just big names, and tiny Falconer on top? Feels kind of cool to see them compete with the big ones for someones attention. ;)

Yes, only big names. I am kind of "old school". Perhaps it's an age thing. Hehe.
Falconer might be tiny compared to the dinosaurs in my list but they sure know how to rock'n'roll :bangersmiley:

Agree. Falconer, Amon Amarth and Thyrfing definitely did it great this year.
-
1. Slipknot - All Hope Is Gone
2. Falconer - Among Beggars And Thieves
3. Avantasia - The Scarecrow
4. In Flames - A Sense Of Purpose
5. Children Of Bodom - Blooddrunk
Sorry, Slipknot is the best album of all times for me and I am over 30.
No shame to come in second place.

My list could be pretty long actually, but my top 5 is:
1. Opeth - Watershed
2. Falconer - Among Beggar And Thieves
3. Dreamtide - Download a Dream
4. Karmakanic - Who's The Boss In The Factory
5. Seventh Wonder - Mercy Falls
(6. Dream Theater - Greatest Hit (And 21 Other Pretty Cool Songs) ) - Well this is a compilation, but damn every song is superb! And also a bonus point for the funny name ;)
-
1. Opeth - Watershed
Aah, at least one more who understands this brilliant masterpiece...

Seems like you have great taste in music. Just discovered Dreamtide and Seventh wonder. REALLY great. Then of course I see that your taste is far from perfect....wink wink to Black Knight.

Watershed is a brilliant album, perhaps their best ever. And considering I've bought almost everything they released and liked it, in my opinion it is a masterpiece indeed!
-
My opinion:
1. Fireflight's Unbreakable (sorry Falconer, but this was a simply superb album)
2. Tie for Among Beggars and Thieves and Dragonforce's Ultra Beatdown
4. Battlelore's The Last Alliance
5. Dreamtale's Phoenix
