Oh. My. GOD. Stefan, have I expressed my undying love for you guys yet? Because if I haven't, I do so now.
And Matthias's voice is like balm on my soul. The only other voice that can relax me and ease any tension I have this much is Roy Khan's from Kamelot. I'm so extatically happy that Matthias is back!
I had better go post this news on the Myspace page, otherwise there will be many annoyed Falconer fans (even though I do tell them to come here!) ;) Oh, and you guys how have over 1500 fans on Myspace!

I can tell right away that all the songs are gonna pwn. I just wish that it was one full song instead of 10 seconds of a few. Giving us so little of each should be LEGALLY considered torture.

Some of the titles could be heard, because the were sung in the choruses. After that sample my highest expectations are on "Tower of the Queen" and "Catch the Shadows" but that may of course change when I hear all the full songs.

I love the excerpts of the new songs!
I remember the time when "Sceptre of Deception" was coming out and the first song we got to hear was "Trail of Flames". Then before the time of "Grime VS Grandeur" it was "Emotional Skies" which was the first thing we got to check out.
And this time, with this mix of excerpts it is done... my anticipation is as high as never before!
I'm nearly EXPLODING! :D

It really reminds of "Falconer" times. And it's so good to have Matthias back. His voice is so strong and variable. I can't express it with words...WOW

recording "Falconer" and "Chapters from a Vale Forlorn" on my minidisc recorder.
that's right, i'm tuning in to the first and second album and getting ready for number five :D

Tower of the queen is my favourite, so far...very catchy chorus

After listening to the sample a few more times I have changed my mind. I am looking forward to "Perjury and Sanctity" even more than TotQ and CtS.

Well, it`s already been said: This is torture. I kind of feel like Tantalus - always the freshest water and finest foods in front of his face, but once he tries to take a bite it all fades away. I can`t believe I`ll have to wait until October 6th (don`t ask) until I can listen to this stuff in all its glory. I`m going a little bit insane because of this. :cry:
Anyway - this stuff is pure gold! I can already tell from the teaser that "Nothwind" will definitely be at least my second favorite Falconer album. It is such an overwhelming joy to hear Mathias`wonderful voice on Stefan`s riffs again. The music is classic, old school Falconer, but at the same time sounds more sophisticated. At some points, I think, the groovier style of GvG still shines through, but only as a nuance that serves the overall power of the music very decently.
The melodies are very catchy and clever - "Perjury and Sanctity" is my favorite right now, already a classic, closely followed by "Tower of the Queen".
Thank you Stefan, thank you Mathias, thank you Falconer, for this sneak preview, though it really is a pain in the ass (and heart) that some time is yet to pass until the real deal will be available.
Still, this music is so wonderful, definitely some of the very best you have ever done (I can already tell), it sure is worh every second of waiting, Vorfreude ist die schönste Freude...

You should have seen my goosebumps when Mathias intonated the opening title track! Only his voice, calm, strong, hypnotic.
The songs ARE more sophisticated and therefore not as catchy in the first place, I think. At least some of them will have to grow (and they will) on me even more...

I remember Stefan saying that he thought the guitar sound on sceptre was heavy, but it doesn't all all compare to this album... this is the fattest, heaviest guitar sound in falconer yet and im loving it ...
Also the drums sound killer this time!

Am I right if I say tht Falconer is finding the way back tot heir roots again? Not only speaking about Mathias as a singer, but also musically?

No teasing for a while already... I can't hold back some further notes. :P ;)
My favourite so far is 'Spirit Of The Hawk' - straight, melodic, killer track that whould have suited the debut album!
But the more I listen to the album, the more favourites develop, haha. 'Fairyland Fanfare' always draws a huge smile on my face due to the extreme alliterations in one part. 'Blinded' kicks ass as well as 'Dilusion' which reminds a lot of 'Busted To The Floor' thanks to the groove and the hammond organ.
The chorus of 'Catch The Shadows' has a steady place in my ears as well as 'The Tower Of The Queen' and of course the titletrack already.
Did I mention before that "Northwind" features 55 minutes of pure FALCONER?

I do admit, however, that it's because Falconer has yet to disappoint. See, my limit for disappointments is three in a row; I bought the last three Maiden albums the day they were released, only to be severly disenchanted time after time (they've been pretty much atrocious), that's why I'm actually downloading the new one, to see if I should actually buy it . (I still can't help but feel excited about listening to it though, damn it. :mrgreen:)
Good thing Falconer has been a pretty consistent band. :)

That is pretty bad on my part tho... I just got all the Falconer albums last week.... I've got every song memorized, keep trying to get some of my bands I sing with to do some covers, and I want the new album already...lol.... Just can't get enough!!!! :D
