Not sure where to post this... Metal stuff ? Talk ?
Oh wel, whatever... I picked one...
Just thougth the other day (yes I do have a brain... :wink: ) wouldn't it be nice to share some metal related stories. ? Funny, scary, shocking whatever...
Browsing through my mind (and a mind as well !!)( :shock: )
I came up with this fist one :
I was watching the Deep Purple DVD (with the London Philharmonic Orchestra) the other day and as you may know there is a guest appearance from Ronnie James Dio in it.
So at one point where Ronnie sings his well known world hit 'Love is all' I called my darling wife over to have a look.
I knew she was very fond of that song (was a million seller in all charts in the late 70's) and I wanted to surprise her that this song was on a so called 'Metal DVD'...
So I called her over and you have no idea what she said when she saw Ronnie doing his thing on stage...
Did she say : 'oh my God I recognize that song ?' Did she say 'oh my God this guy is quite a performer and he has a heavenly voice' ??
No my dear metal friends, she looked at the screen for a split second, backs up a little and says instantly : "OH MY GOD WHAT AN UGLY MAN !!!"
At that point it struck to me again, I will never have a metal wife...

My only metal story is how I babbled on like a fool when I met Anders Johansson from HammerFall. I don't think he undestood one word I was saying because I was talking so fast. "OhmygodIloveyouguysyou'resoawesomeandIhaveallyourCDsIjustboughtthenewestoneandIgottheshirtandIloveyouguyspleasecomeagain!" He just kind of smiled and nodded.
God, I hope I don't turn into a gibbering idiot the next time I get to meet someone famous...

Everytime I see Tundra or Katla from Finntroll, I freeze and try to look somewhere else... Opening my jacket and showing my finntroll t-shirt at the same time ;D

I have a sorry metal story, sort of. I was at my girl freind's prom/senior dance and Metallica had just shot threir first music video which was playing on MTV. I decided that I would ask the dj to play that song so I went up to him, as people were asking to play certain songs and I asked him if he could play "One" by Metallica, and he replied, "one what".........ugh, back into the shadows, what a miserable night that was............

i have a little story, maybe its not funny now but it was funny at the moment:
last summer i went to Dynamo open air, and when i watch Slayer playing a guy came to me very drunk, he said: have you seen a girl with black hair, black t-shirt , and she have almost the lenght you have. lol

Ok, here is another one for you.
Just recently I was in the local mall with the misses and the children to help her choosing out some boots. Since I am a guy I gave her my undivided attention and assistance...
for one and a half minute... :mrgreen:
So, being easily distracted I wondered off to adjacent store which held everthing for athletes like myself... A sporting store. Having a quick glimpse at my half camouflaged belly I took a brave decision. I was gonna buy me a football to do dazzling tricks with in my backyard to surprise not only my twingirls but my unsuspecting friends as well.
Now the problem was : there were like tens of balls to choose out of... :roll:
Now you should know that all these balls were only half inflated so I could not astoun the gorgeous sales ladies with a marvellous display of my ball joggling tricks.
After having felt all balls, thrown them in the air, rolled them a bit on the carpet, I still couldn't make up my mind about the purchase.
But since I had been gone over 15 minutes and knowing my wife's patience is not infinite I decided not to define fate and I picked a grey one out.
But still I was not sure having made the right decision. And this feeling haunted my thoughts all the way home.
But then, my friends, the metal gods decided to give me a sign I had picked out the best ball of the lot. I was in the garage trying out the first trick to surprise the world when I saw these white letters printed at the side of the ball - I swear to you all, I had not seen them before- : It said : VENOM !
My all time favorite Black Metal band, a band which will always have a very special place in my heart.
So, I looked at my ball again, looked around the garage, carressed it for just a little moment, threw it in the air and made a perfect full stop on the back of my heel. For the non-football guys, a trick which normally takes years to practise...
I bit through a tear of joy coming up, looked at my Venom ball once more, placed it in the best place in the house, and whispered to it :
WELCOME TO HELL...

Ok guys, since my motto here appears to be "better late than never" (again!!!) , i'm gonna tell you a short one (though you made me recollect many from the infinite depths of my memory, i'll stick to one that's related to the story girls stated above).
It has to do with me bartending (yeap, did this job too, one of my favourites if i could just always stay 20something)
A guy came to the bar after having checked the cocktails menu, and said to me:
-I want a magic flute !! (eyes filled with curiosity and expectation).So i replied:
