So two guys no one has heard of decided to make a metal cover of the song "Can You Feel the Love Tonight" form The Lion King. To say they did a good job would be an understatement. I'm reminded of Dragonland's cover of The Neverending Story...but not quite as speedy. :)

I certainly hope they plan on doing more! And I'd be lying if I said I didn't think metal covers of Disney tunes would rock. I'm a nerd, I think things like that are awesome. :D
-
Hey that's great :D Tho I wouldn't necessarily listen to that kinda music, but the idea of making metal versions from disney songs is just great :)
-
Sweet. :)
-
Thanks Angel, this really made my day. One of my favorite movies of all time, I enjoyed this to pieces! :bangersmiley:

This some how reminde me of a strange metal interpretation:

VAN CANTO are genious! I love a capella. :)
-
I like it.
He's got a strong voice, and despite the lisp in the beginning it really shines through to me.
-
Sorry but this is definitly the most gay piece of metal that I heard ever since. Nevertheless It's done great but come on I know that out there are lots of people that have to much time in there lives. But I don't think that metallized Disney songs are necessary. What comes next a black metal version of Hakuna matata ???

That would be kind of funny... but as far as I concern, it's too rhytmic for being transformed into blackmetal, more likely to end as a crossover mathcore production.
-
I must say I'm totally against this idea Kex because every piece of mathcore that exists is one to much. If that's the case I would even prefer an a capella Gaymetal group consisting of Rob Halford, Ralf Scheepers and Tobi Sammet.
Acutally I find it very hard to imagine a Disney song that could be metallized properly at all.
-
pocahontas turned into some fine nightwishtunes... why not?
-
Now that you say it. Hhhmm, or a social critic, rage against the machine tune in aristocats would work out well who knows.
Generally spoken the Disney songs are a bit too schmaltzy to be metallized, even for fans of "Every rose has it's thorns" (btw it's impossible to say it fast and repeated 3 times for every middle-european) :tocktock:
-
I could see Opeth pulling off "Hakuna Matata" though they'd probably make it much, much longer.
Bah humbug to you too, Wulfgar. :P
-
Jeah ok AngelOfMusic. Maybe it is possible. The songs of the movie Atlantis could be rearranged by Bal Sagoth (especially because this fits totaly in their favourite topic ).
-
And all the other ones could be tunred into some gruesome Rhapsodyones *uargh* makes me shiver, but would totally fit...
-
Exactly this is what makes me feel like why the hell you should make Metalverions of Disney songs.
-
Beacause somewhere out ther are Fans of Rhapsody, if they are too convert Disneysongs into mtalversions, they wont be getting on my nerves constantly.
-
Cradle of Filth would fit, I'd say :D
Imagine some crazy macabre Disney covers of that Rumpelstiltskin Metal guys :P :D
-
:lachen:
-
Freak Kitchen would do quite a fantastic cover of "Poor Unfortunate Souls" IMO.
If you assume only Rhapsody-esque covers could be done, you really need to expand your metal horizons.

just playing with perjudices ;), Haggard would work as well vor shure
-
Would that be with full orchestra, choir, and clean AND growls? :icon_wink:
If that's so, which song?
-
By the way isen't Pirates of the carribean also a Disney Production? Well then, the music there fits totally to that Haggard style. They even must not rerecord it because it sounds like them anyway. But of course the music by Hans Zimmer is a lot better then Haggard.

something out of The Lion King, but I'm not quite sure which song in particular...
-
Hmmm...how about "Be Prepared?" That might work.

I was about to say! :D
I'm the person you've all been talking about, the idiot Rhapsody fan who LOVES the CYFtLT cover (it's on my iPod) and would totally go in for more metallized Disney tunes. Be Prepared would be particularly great (you could even growl--lion-like!), and Be Our Guest would be excellent (it's already speedy). Metal mouse! :p
As for Pirates of the Caribbean, it's already been partially done! Alestorm's "No Quarter".

I think I can remember that Disney also made documentations about nature and animals in his early days ...this could be the base for some FINNTROLL or KORPIKLAANI songs because most of them already look like animals :56:
