Is this (fantastic) song about any event(s) in particular or is just about the shattered dreams of immigrants? History from Falconer's part of the world is seldom taught on the other side of the Atlantic.  I think Gustavus Adolphus is probably the only name that shows up in classrooms here and he's been dead for 300 years.

Actually I can only hear the resemblance (spelling???) in the lyric.
If a foreigner hear the song I don´t think they can tell that it´s the same song,
but it some years I heard it so I could be wrong.
