To put it totally simple - Dirt Vs. Gold - or something in that direction.
But the interpretation "Poor Vs. Wealthy" is also quite accurate I'd say.
But I wouldn't say that it's about the fissure, the gap, between of these two extremes.
Concerning the expression "Vs." or "Versus", it's may be more about the clash of these two contrasts. The conflict between them.
The poor against the rich.
Grime against Grandeur.
Those would be my first thoughts about it.
