I just found out about this sad news through a thread titel in another forum. Without clicking that posting I immediately rushed to
cnn.com and was devastated :'(
Michael Jackson was pretty much the first musician I remember who conciously fascinated me. I guess, until I was 10 or 12 years old, he was the greates musician of all time to me. I mean, Michael Jackson was a phenomenon (I can't believe we're talking in the past tense of him..)
Of course, if one's as high on top of everything as he was, there was only the way down to come. And that happened, oh and how it did...
His historic relevance in pop music will remain undoubted. His songs are there for eternity. And anybody - okay, let's say
almost anybody - has definitely had a catchy tune of a Jackson song in his mind once or even a most favorite song of his. I will always keep him in mind as a pioneer and a grand and terrific artist, who has touched me with his art very early and kindled my love for music.
