Jakob Hasse

Blacknight: Tack själv mycket!  (Did I do that right?)

@Radagast: Better than me.  And I've been practicing.

Angel Of Music: That's pretty good! "Tack själv mycket!" would be like "Thank you lots!". One would probably rather just say something like "Tack så mycket själv!"

Don't take this personally, but do you use some kind of interpreter application (like Babelfish or likewise)?

Just a Swedish-English dictionary and a thing that tells me what to do in order to make the accent marks.  And what little vocabulary my mother remembers (VERY little).  I'm trying to teach myself, since none of the schools around here teach it.  (of course, speaking it, it doesn't sound right at all, I'm sure.)  Oh!  And a wall-hanging of the seasons in Swedish, and a very old cutting board that says "Var så god" which mom claims means "thank you."  However, someone else told me it means "there you go."

I have other family that speaks fluent Swedish, but it is only the old Swedish, instead of what is currently spoken.  Great-grandparents came here from the island of Öland back in the late 1800's.  We were Blomgrens and Nelson's, the Blomgren side were originally called Gustafson, but apparently the Swedish army changed it to Blomgren because there were too many Gustafsons enrolled.

Somewhere in Sweden, I have many cousins and aunts and uncles and great-aunts/uncles, etc...that I have never met.

Doesn't "Tack så mycket." work as well?  Or is that only a sentence fragment? Like I said, my grammar is horrible.

Hey Virva, maybe you can help me! ;)  Or maybe one of the other Swedish speakers here wants to help a girl trying to be prepared in case she meets any of those unknown relatives?   :D
