Yep, here is another round guys...
Time to let our Australian friend Grym have his laugh...  8)

Why don't I go first...

Thinking of Australia I think of

- Koalas and Kangaroos
- Sydney
- Aboriginals
- Neighbours
- Lleyton Hewitt (formely engaged to Belgian tennispride Kim Clijsters)
- Outback
- Christmas at the beach

And above all : the other side of the world (in comparison to Europe) !!

Excellent choice, shadow (trying to keep the topic away from Belgium, are you? ;) )

Australia, let's see...

- Mel Gibson
- Russel Crowe (though he's from New Zealand IIRC)
- Steve Irwin (aka the Crocodile Hunter)
- Crocodile Dundee I & II
- ROSE TATTOO
- heat
- very varied and mostly beautiful scenery
- the Sydney Opera
- "Waltzing Matilda"
- Gallipoli

All spontaneous brainstorming, let's see, if I'll have a few more thoughts...

Hahahahaha, I will get MY laugh eventually as well, do not worry...

And spontaneous brainstorming is indeed what this is all about...
That is why I didn't think of Rose Tattoo myself...

Want to add one more thing though : Australians seem to have the strange habbit of using the word 'mate' four times in every sentence ... :silly:

A friend of mine was visiting Austrailia some years ago. And he walks bye a metal music store (Metal Mayhem) a coupple of times, without enter it. But one day he decided to pay it a visit. Can you guess what record they had on the sterio?! Mithotyn's "King of...". Was he surprised or what?    He told the manager of the store that he know one of the guitarists of the band, and I can assure you that they were very good friends after that ;) .
That's the first thing I think of when I hear the name Australia. Strange, ha?! ;)
So her's some other things:

- Fosters (Beer)
- Dangerous animals  (Snakes & spiders. Blah!)
- Water
- Big red rock
- Dry
- Big island
- Friendly people ( ;) )

That kind of personal stories is what brings some light into a pretty dark and fucked up day... :)

OMG, you must be kidding? :D
Together with AC/DC (how could we forget them for so long?)  they are the most important hard rock band from Australia, playing dirty rock the MOTÖRHEAD-way for about 25 years if I'm not completely mistaken...

Hm, no real need to be ashamed of. They were quite inactive for a few years recently and and they definitely don't match everyones likes... Though I heard they're one of the best live bands of all times... great show and great performance.

Yes, they are from Australia. They started back in 1977 or so. They are still around and touring although I think they had disbanded from from mid 80s to late 90s. They are heavily tattooed guys  (full sleeves and all) before that was a such a popular  thing and they were, are, connected with a tattoo parlor as well.

Can't comment on their performance -- never saw them live. :(

Hehehehehe... allow this old warrior to have a say on Rose Tattoo...
These full blooded Australians were an major part of my  youth...

Rose Tattoo, with the legendary 'screamer-singer' Angry Anderson were one of the first in musical history to make a succesfull link between punk and heavy metal.
Normally I hate this kind of 'crossover' (as it was called back then) but Rose Tattoo made a brilliant debut album called Rose Tattoo (1978)
Songs as 'Butcher and Fast Eddy', 'Nice boys' and 'Remedy' are classics every metal fan should consider as common knowledge...
They were (as Metal Maiden pointed out) and as the name says it 'fully tatooed'. Just look at the cover on 'Scarred for life'...
If I remember well, the front cover  on that album was a black and white picture only with the tattoos in colour. Needless to say this is a 75 % coloured pic...

The live performances were legendary. Anderson had this strange habbit of banging the mike standard against his head untill the blood pourred out. Let us say  a 'grind' attitude 'avant la lettre'...

Let me conclude by  using Anderson favorite quote :
'Bad girls love bad boys but... good girls love 'em too'...

Rose Tattoo deserve a place in metals history !!!
