That kind of personal stories is what brings some light into a pretty dark and fucked up day...

Indeed. I had a big smile on my face for several weeks after I heard the story.

AC/DC of course! Just rocked the shoulders to 'Thunderstruck' last night once again (shoulder track of the Body Pump session in the gym)... THUN-DER!

Rose Tattoo - no need to be ashamed? Well, at least until we don't tell anybody. ;) Seen them live at Wacken Open Air from far away once, late at night, I think. Wasn't in the mood for it...

And I'll add: P. Sherman, 42 Wallabyway, Sydney! (not sure about the spelling of the "...way" at the moment)

Furthermore: Visitors to our friend Barbara. The last one, Matthew, was especially cool. Heavy accent, 'rude' (in a funny way for me) language, we had a lot of fun during his stay here. :)
What I learnt from him: Australia is terribly expensive for al iving. For example he was really taken aback by my car, which I bought used, almost 7 years old, but in Australia, he said, I would have had to pay about 5 or 6 times as much for it as I did here. So he bought some stuff to take home, because it was so much cheaper over here (brakes for his bike for example, cost a fortune for my standards regarding bikes here as well, but would have been three times as much down low...).

Hot 'winter', vast outback and so on, yeah.

Australia... everything was already said, methinks. Im confronted with Australia and its funny accent every time I turn on the TV and that Croc Hunter is jumping about in some jungle trying to get his arm bitten off by an alligator or something. And to be honest, I think on one show he will be successful!

@ metalmaiden:
Dangerous thing equalizing NZ and Australia! A friend of mine is a Kiwi and he would have given you the  :fuck:
Kiwis speak a very different English - more understandable, that is, and there is some kind of hostility between the countries. Australians like to call the Kiwis sheepfu#&ers and a Kiwi will crack a joke like:
"Why do birds fly over Australia upside down? - Cuz its not worth shitting on!"

So you better make sure you differentiate clearly when dealing with a Kiwi or an Aussie!!

Farewell,

Sir Birdhead

Crazy drunken backpackers in youth hostels
