Yep, I'm wearing a kilt in that picture. It is "plaid" in case you didn't know (the true name for it is called "tartan"). The particular tartan I'm wearing is called "Black Watch." It was the official tartan of the Scottish military for a time, and is pretty much the most common tartan you'll see. And yes, as Tex pointed out, for a time the British forbade the Celts to wear Tartan or play Bagpipes as they supposedly encouraged "rebellion" and nationalism or somesuch (basically they were just trying to break the Scots' spirits). The sword I'm carrying is a claymore (or claidhmohr in gaelic) which roughly translates to "big sword." Claymores were developed for combat purposes to take out cavalry by cutting through the horses legs as they charged or sometimes through the haft of the horse either dismounting or mortally injuring the rider. They're nasty weapons, but I love 'em.
My character's oufit is mostly Celtic in nature, but that's not the theme of the band, just my character that I play when I'm on stage.
And as for Angelofmusic, yep, we know each other outside this forum. We'll get to hang out at the Hammerfall/Edguy concert for sure, it's gonna rule! \\m//
