Anyways, nice pic indeed, Minstrel. Almost makes me think about getting to Sweden again! :D

Well I'm trying to see if I can mabye study in Sweden.  That'd put me closer to Finland.  But so far I haven't gotten much help, and the one professor in my department that knows about international study is on sabbatical. :(

I know some Swedish.  I can sometimes follow along with what's being said, if written, but that's only by virtue of how similar some Swedish words are to English words.  Huzzah for the languages having a common root!

Anything else I know is from what my mom and grandfather remembered.

However, according to www.studyinsweden.se international students don't HAVE to know Swedish.  But I intend on learning it if/when the opportunity arises.  I'd like to become fluent.

I know they don't have to, but I think it's just weird that some people spend long times in a foreign country without even learning the most common phrases... So it's good you're so enthustiastic about it!

Becoming fluent.. Wow, at least you've got a goal Though it might take awhile. I've studied Swedish for years and don't consider myself fluent yet. Then again, I don't get to live in Sweden either

Over this Labor Day Weekend I went to Indianapolis, IN for the Nightwish Forum Meet.  Only six people were able to make it, but a fun time was had by all anyway.  Here are some pics fromt he weekend.
