Personally, I'm quite pissed about that and though I respect Stevens for his past, I disrespect him for his present.

I understand that he may have show sympathy for Al Queada, but I veiw it the same as the Catholic preists here supporting on another through the child abuse cases. The catholic religion is based on the tenant of forgiveness, I would think that would have a strong impact on how someone looks at the situation. The same with Cat Stevens, he believes in what he has learned and I beleive that defending yourself/your religion is very strong in Islam. I will agree that there are always soem factions that take it to the extreme, but we have to take that into account for peoples actions. We were discussing yesterday, that in his music you could tell that he was searching for "something" that he may have found in Islam. I can only hope that he is not in a radical faction. Nevertheless, he wrote some beautiful music.

NP: the ringing in my ears from last night..........

We saw Trans-Siberian Orchestra last night and it was a Fantastic show!!!!!!! We had unbeleivable seats, First row, on the extreme left off the stage, above the tech pit!!!! Chris Caffery was talking with our section in between playing, all the members were down there between their performances. Alex Skolnick was unbeleivable, the first time I had ever seen him perform live and it was great, he was one of the rerasons I picked up guitar in the first place! Before the show ,we were looking at the guitar rack, and Metalmaiden points out these small "guitars". I look at them and I recognize them, they were not guitars, they were violins!!!! Back in the 80's I had purchased an album called VooDoo Violince, by Mark Wood. They were his violins!!!!!! Holy crap!!! i was floored!!! I started to look and then I spotted him!!! I called his name and talked very breifly with him, he was very nice and signed my program!! (Hahahaha, just like a little kid, my wife joked!!!!) The concert was unf*#@ing beleivable!!! Afterwards they had a meet and greet and they all (the whole production!!!)signed the program and I got to talk to Chris, Mark (who remembered my name), and Alex for a bit. They were all very pleasant and I can't wait to see them next year!!!!!!

I do agree with you almost completely. I wouldn't even mind if Stevens would only defend his religion, but from what I've heard, he did more than that which is why the USofA refused to let him into the country a few weeks ago.

<kneeling down and ... well, won't tell you what else ... > ;)

Smolski's new album has been released this monday and I had it (promo) lying in the P.O. box for some days already <hit head on table>. All Bach music. Marvelous!

Is the album called Majesty & Passion? We are trying to find it.

@Metal RN: Yes, that's it.

@Shadow and AoP: Dudes! Haven't you read my review on "The Book Of Heavy Metal"? If had read it, you would own the album for quite some while already, I think. *shakehead*

Well, actually I did. And I stood in front of the CD in stores several times already. But never bought it.

Sad but true. And I'm quite afraid I won't buy it any time soon.
Was too disappointed by most of my purchased stuff in the last few months.

Atrocity - Atlantis - Superior Race

Anybody else having deep problems with Atrocity's albums as well?
I have "Blut", "Werk 80", "Gemini" and "Atlantis"

I can't stand "Blut" and "Gemini", but "Werk 80" and "Atlantis" are great. I wonder how "Willenskraft" will be once it arrives here. (Got it for €1 at eBay...)

Greetz,

Tex

Yeah, they'll be in Chicago for sure, and I don't know if I'll get to see them.  If they come to St. Louis I'll get to see them, but Chicago is iffy. :(  I love Sonata Arctica.  *sighs*  And I missed Nightwish when they were in Chi-Town a few months ago.  They were there the very day my classes started.  Horrid timing.
