Falconer: Folk or Power Metal?

Well the Turisas album turned out quite good I think!

"Battle Metal" as an album title is a whole different story.

But as a description for a music genre *g* I don't know... it sounds stupid :)

Turisas are excellent!  :banger2:

However Battle Metal is really that good a description I guess of the music. I assume that you might think that the music would be a bit bombastic, then again maybe you would think of power metal being like that too.

Hey that was my quote, why the hell did it come up as guest?
EDIT: also changed my original post slightly as it didn't make sense originally!!

So, i've just reregisterred :P

I'm Falconer fan for several years now, i think that the first 2 Albums were the greatest, too.
After hearing it several times i also accustomed me to the new sound of Falconer, especially the new "rough" sounding vocals.

I had the hope that Grime vs Grandeur would sound more linke the old albums, but i was disappointed again :( Perhaps i will like it after hearing it several times, i donn't know.

Perhaps the next album will be more folk than the last 2, at least i hope so.

Sorry if my grammar or spelling isn't correct all the time, bist i didn't write anything in english a long time :)

The only thing I can promise so far regarding the next album (which is still far away) is that it will be alot of folk music in it. More than ever as it looks now.

Then all "old" Falconer fans should be very lucky :)

We'll stay tuned.

As long as you never forget the heavy aspect of the music then that sounds great!

Genres are silly. But somehow, people seems to be in need of them.
There are new genres popping up with every new band these days.

I stopped (well, I still use the word "metal", "death metal", etc) using the genres when "nu-metal" arrived. Not just because of the silly music, but what happens when nu-metal gets old?
Will new music with a new style be called "nu-metal 2" or "even nuer metal"?

No, the new thing is to add "-core" after a pre-existing subgenre.  So now you've got "death-core" and all that silly stuff.  Nu-metal is still used to describe bands like Korn, System of a Down, Mudvayne, etc..., but it doesn't seem to be used for any newer bands.

Blimey! Didn't think of that! But nu-metal is old, then?

It seems to be.  I think it might still exist as a subgenre, but I'm not really up to date on my nu-metal bands.  ;)
